Gail started making hand-made items for sale as a 10-year old girl, where she made customized mice finger puppets and other artisan craft items for sale at a local consignment shop.

Gail turned her creative talents to jewelry in 2005 when she couldn’t find what she wanted in retail shops. A chance flyer in the mail turned her on to lampworking (glass bead making) with a class at Diablo Glass School in Boston. After encouragement from friends and family and some metal-working classes at MetalWerx in Waltham, Gail Zona Jewelry was born in 2008 specializing in glass and sterling statement jewelry.

Fast forward to the fall of 2012 when a friend asked for a custom order for her daughter’s cheerleading banquet. The jewelry was a big hit and school joolz ™, was born.
